Lemonade

We’ve been buying liters upon liters of lemonade this summer and as often happens, I got curious about making my own. Only one rule for lemonade, use fresh lemons not bottled juice. I also used organic cane sugar, I think the slight taste of caramel gave another layer of flavor we don’t usually find in lemonade. As for the process, it can’t be simpler and the results… well all I can say is try if out for yourself.

Lemonade

1 cup fresh squeezed lemon
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup water

Boil sugar and water till the sugar is dissolved and cool, this is called a simple syrup. In a jug mix syrup and lemon juice and add 4 cups of water. Taste it first and decide if you would like to add more water.

Serve with ice. Add vodka for a nice refreshing drink.

Modification: will up the amount of lemon juice to 1 1/4 cup next time as we found it a little sweet.
